Price of S&W 3906

A friend has a near new 3906 S&W he's willing to sell me, but I have no idea what a fair price is. It's a nice gun, feels good in the hand, but it doesn't have adjustable sights (and only eight shots in the mag).

Is $400 about right? Apparently they're hard to find and I haven't seen any for sale. Does anyone have one and, if so, what do you think?

Are there any extended magazines for it?

I would say $400 in right in the ball park. My recent S&W purchase prices in the last 60 days 3913 $475 with 4 mags,3914 TSW new in box(2 mags) $565,5906 2 mags $425.

I paid $380 for my 3913 about 2 weeks ago.

I paid $415 for my 3906 this past summer. no box or docs and one mag. Great 9mm pistol that you don't hear much about. TJ

These are excellent pistols. Illinois State Police used the 39/439/3904 for decades. Excellent ergonomics. The Glock won in the end.

I agree that $400 is fair. Also, factory 3906/3904 magazines should be 9 rounds. The 3913/14 series is factory standard at 8 rounds.
