While listening to ProArms podcast today they did an interview that really amazed me.
This man Bob Stasch is a Chicago police officer, involved in 14 shootings in his career and the one that stands out to him was against a 23yr old man who was 5'7" 143lbs and him and his partner put 15 rounds in him all just about point blank range... while he was still fighting trying kill the officers.
He received
6 .45 colt hollow points point blank to the chest
5 .38 lead hollow points in the back, centered in between the shoulder's
4 .44 magnum Winchester silver-tip hollow points.
all this while he is still fighting 2 officers with a butchers knife.
He says it was the scariest shootout he has ever experienced because quite simply, the man had the will to live. He had an alcohol content of .05 and no drugs in his system of any kind.
It is so freaking scary to think that a person without enhancing drugs in his system and a small body could put up this kind of fight all while his internals are just shredded.
They said they blew out his lung, spleen, fingers... the shot that finally brought him down, letting the officers get control of the situation was a .44 magnum to the kneecap. After all of this, he lived for another 10 days while in the hospital.
Anyhow, i thought some here may get a kick out of that. I sitting here looking at my 9mm sitting next to me and then think.. hmmmm..... could you imagine dumping a mag into someones central mass and having to still fight them off in order for you to live?.
