I have a nikon monarch red-dot scope on a Taurus model 44 in of course .44 mag. This is a 6" ported barrel and a complete pussy cat to shoot. The other day myself and a few friends were doing some plinking. At 25 yards all 4 of us were hitting 16oz water bottles without any problem at all. Same thing goes for the last 6 months. After approx 24 rounds the scope just went out. Went from hitting dead on to lord knows where. Took some cardboard out today and I am hitting approx 3 feet low. i tried to adjust back up and ran out of adjustment and still not in the area I want. Everything has been checked 3 to 4 times for being tight. Removed and remounted scope still can't get it to work.

So question anything to do or try before I ship it off to Nikon for warrenty repair. Even with full house loads my 11 year old son shoots this gun without a whimper. Granted I don't give him buffalo bore or anything crazy. Any thoughts or suggestions are certainly welcome. I am going on a hog hunt in a month so no chance to get it back from nikon before the trip.
