Great story, had something similar happen once. Get a herd moving around or on the move, trying to get your shot ready at the same time that can happen. Hunted Wyoming Antelope for years. Lots of good memories and enjoyable hunts.
My 1st western hunts were pronghorn and mulies in Wyoming in the early '70's. Lots of fun and lots of success. Pay a bit for private land; you won't be sorry.
A few that were taken in Wyoming. Far right spiked doe was the one most satisfying hunt....taken with a handgun at 200 yards. Practiced all summer at that range and working up a .44 magnum load. Goal was to get the entire family unit (Buck, doe, fawn) mounted.

Been chasing goats in New Mexico for 30 years. Wife decided to go with me for the last 15 years. We always have a good time on a private ranch. Congrats for a enjoyable hunt
