Outdoor Hub Article - PSA5

Released at Shot Show 2018, Palmetto State Armory MP5 Clone. Can't wait to see about pricing and whether they will sell individual parts as well, so one can assemble one as they desire.

Here's hoping that they come out with a 9-10" barrel assembly with a faux suppressor shroud to get to 16" and a quick detach muzzle treatment to get around SBR'ing it.

I have been waiting for something like this (ASSUMING it comes with PSA's usual pricing matrix) for years, and am also looking forward to the actual availability. I couldn't justify $1,800 for the recent clones, and a .22 just won't cut it for me.

An MP5 has been a grail gun of mine for most of my adult life. At one time almost bought a GSG .22lr clone, but never did as I don't care for the cheap internals, and it being a .22lr.

I actually had one of the GSG clones and it shot very well. My sons and I put a lot of rounds through it and had a blast. However, this PSA really gets my attention.

I don't like the pistol brace on it, but I think a saw a longer barreled version with a regular stock. Personally I'd rather just have the longer barrel or file the SBR paperwork to put the stock on the short barrel.

Other than that though it looks like a good/interesting gun if the price is right. I'm so bored of AR's at this point that people making clones of ANYTHING else is welcomed :D.

If this ends up reasonably priced I may have to get one. I keep backing off from an ar15 pistol cal build because of magazine concerns, but this just might be the ticket...

PTR's is a wash because it's too expensive.

This is a bit more like it. Supposed to be $800 street, I think?

I know PTR has been having a rough time with their AK's, though. I hope this turns out better.

A Kurz forend with an A5 style sliding ***** [arm brace] ? sign me up. It's pretty much my grail PDW combination, so if this is anywhere close to reasonably priced I will be owning one.

If it is reliable, interchangeable with H&K parts, and comes in under $1000, it will blow the competition away. The other clones generally get good reviews, but at $1500-2000 when you can get a CZ Scorpion for $700-800 or a B&T GHM for $1200-1300, it is hard to justify.
