Using Bullseye to make Major - which Trent's loads are clearly in the vicinity (185gr x 940fps / 1,000 = 173.9) - is not pleasant. Bullseye works quite nicely at "bullseye loads", which has no demand on power factor and velocity other than what is required to cycle the gun. Use Bullseye to push the power factor to the right and the shooter is gonna start to notice it.
Trent, what you're feeling is exactly what IPSC shooters who shot Major with Bullseye felt. And it's why they developed sore wrists, elbows, and even shoulders after long seasons and high round count practices.
The reason you're feeling the difference is the recoil impulse with Bullseye loaded full bear is sharp. The pressure curve is very steep. And the reason you notice it even more is the 1911, with its longer, heavier slide and more total gun mass overall, is that it snaps back harder.
Use a powder with a medium burning rate and you'll find that you'll be able to achieve the same velocity with a more comfortable recoil impulse. Just like the IPSC shooters in the 90's did.
