Aren't most (all?) rifles that use stripper clips designed to push aside the empty stripper clip as the bolt goes back into battery? For example, aren't SKS rifles designed so that after charging the magazine with the stripper clip, one can simply pull back on the charging handle and the rifle will chamber a new round and push out the empty clip? Almost every video I see on Youtube of stipper clip-fed rifles (Mauser, Enfield, SKS, etc.) is unaware of this.

While I suppose it'd be possible for a stripper clip to get into the action via this technique, that seems unlikely.

Every stripper clip rifle I've ever used will knock the clip out of the way when you let the bolt go forward. This will usually damage the clip. Not an issue in combat Most people are in the habit of pulling it out before sending the bolt home as they want to reuse the clip.

I think most folks these days are more interested in making the clips last a long time than they are in maximum speed reloads.

Withdrawing the clip by hand may be a bit slower, but they won't get dinged up near as much.

Neither the 1903 nor the M-14 will knock a stripper clip out of the way via the bolt--if the clip is inserted all the way to the stop on the side.
M-1 Carbine strippers only mount to magazines, so those oar non sequitur. Ditto AR magazines.
The unique design of the Johnson rifle means the stripper isn't in the way of the action at all (may have to borrow one and see what happens).

Now, continental rifles using stripper clips, I'd not be surprised at all that the bolt ejects them. I think the Swiss rifles do so. I want to remember that Lebels actually dump the empty stripper out through the bottom of the action.

My stripper clips are just more stuff in my collection, since my arthritic thumbs say HELL NO to using them. And frankly, I just KNOW I'd slice myself open with those dang Mosin strippers. They scare me.

Especially now that some clips are getting scarce - and expensive!
