Hi I'm in Canada so our prices are outrageous!

Mossberg 500A w/ Wood Stock 28" barrel and 3 Accu-Chokes for $319.99

Mossberg 500A w/ Synthetic stock with 28" barrel fixed Mod choke and 18" cylinder bore barrel for $319.99

Mossberg 535 ATS w/ Wood Stock with 28" barrel, 24" rifled deer barrel, and 3 Accu-Chokes for $349.99

Can somebody give me an informed choice! I don't plan to shoot 3.5" shells but the ATS combo seems good with 3 chokes, and a rifled barrel. Plus they're is always the option to shoot the 3.5" shells.

Thanks.

Id get the combo gun. True you dont get choke tubes but I have never been a firm believer in factory chokes anyway. Plus you get the 18 in barrel for HD fun.

Can you scope the receiver and use an 18" cylinder bore barrel for rifled slugs? Or is the barrel too short?

I have had good success with the 18-1/2" barrel with the plain (not saboted or sleeved) slugs. Mine is the smooth cylider bore, with only a bead front sight.

Now, if you think you might be taking longer shots with the slugs for say deer hunting, the rifled barrel with rifle sights and using saboted (sleeved slugs, if you prefer that name) will work better out to 100 or 125 Yds than the smooth barrel with rifled (Forster-style) slugs.
