question on MI pistol transfer

I'm an Ohio resident but go to college in Michigan. MI has handgun resgistration, OH doesn't. If I buy a pistol online, can I have it shipped to an FFL in MI? Or do I have to be a resident?

I think, but am not sure, that in Michigan an FFL can't transfer a handgun to you without going through the purchase permit/safety inspection procedure, and that to get a purchase permit you have to be a resident. But get a second opinion on this - also things may be handled differently in different counties or city police departments. The more rural the better.

I do believe your gonna have to be a resident and you will have to go though the purchase/inspection permit thing and since you dont live in michigan i dont think they will give you one
