I bought the Umarex "John Wayne" Colt Peacemaker. I got the BB gun version. I set up a shooting range in my garage and have been having a blast with it, literally! I've heard through reviews on youtube that even though Umarex doesn't recommend it, you can also shoot .177 caliber pellets in it. I've heard the pellets are more accurate than the BB's. Has anyone else tried this?

Also, I'd like to get a Western Holster & Belt rig. Any recommendations?

I have only shot pellets and "soft" BB's in mine with no worries. Personally I don't like steel BB's hard on the barrel.....if I do use BB's I like black diamond or something along those lines. It shoots fine out to about 10-15 but it will fall off pretty quick after that.

As to a holster, really anything that will work with a single action will do the job....mine is in my cowboy rig.....great for practice.

They say you can, but not worth it. BB guns are smooth bore, while Pellet pistols are rifled barrels. And of course some barrels are better than others. One of the best co2 I have is the Walther CP88. A wonderful pistol that is common in Europe for Iron Plate shooting. I use it frequently for Training. Especially DAO.

I would not worry about putting pellets in the smooth bore. Just a waste of money.

In my experience pellets are hard to load in mine and a waste of money. No better accuracy than ordinary BBs. Black Diamond or Precision BBs will give better accuracy. I also have a pistol that is designed for either BBs or pellets. The pellets give no better accuracy than BBs in it so why waste money on pellets? Spend it on better BBs.
