I recently picked up a Para Ordnance P-10 in 45Acp, and it came with one factory magazine which has a Pearce extension on it. The back section of the extension is busted and I'll need a new one. My question is: should there also be a metal floorplate retainer between the extension and the magazine spring? I'm not familiar with these Paras, but most double stack mags have a plate with a raised center button that serves to retain the actual floorplate or in this case, the Pearce extension floorplate. Also, would a Smith & Alexander Para mag guide still allow a mag with an extension to fit properly? OK, while I'm at it, one more question: what, if any, plastic parts are desireable to replace right off the bat? Magazine catch?, guide rod?, trigger?, MSH? Are any of these a known "weak link" in the Paras? Who has good deals on Para factory mags?
Thanks!
Chris

IMHO the magazines *are* the weak link in Para Ord guns.

I got my replacement followers and floorplates from:

http://www.dawsonprecision.com/

They have quite a few other items for Para Ord guns.

Extra power mag springs from www.gunsprings.com help out a lot too.

For what its worth, Para P10 is one of the few examples I have of ProMag replacement magazines working well -- bought one, it worked!, got another, it worked too!
