Townsville - now THAT had changed.

I noticed when I was there that they confiscated a little extra from the livestock to plant palm trees EVERYWHERE, about one every 3-4 metres.

The place looked like a latin-american soap opera. With the corrupt politics, kinda appropriate :(

Battler,

I had you picked for an expat. I don't have the time to reply to you right now - I'm down for a couple of 12 hour shifts with the family company starting at 4 am Saturday and it's now 8:15 Friday evening; but don't go away, I will be back.

I will just point out that the Murdoch press is the worst possible enemy of firearms owners in Australia with their unrelenting distortions and, sometimes, downright lies so far as we are concerned, what is worse, when the "mistakes" are pointed out to them they refuse to acknowledge them. So if Rupert is doing good in the US, by all means keep him and with my thanks.

fallingblock: Thank you for the kind words. Yes I do get extremely frustrated at times. We are saddled with the most malevolent, vindictive and breathtakingly hypocritical gun laws imaginable all courtesy of the greatest bigot that ever filled the office of prime minister in this country. When I say bigot, I do not only refer to his attitude to gun-owners. :fire:

(Maybe off topic)

If that's the case, it seems that perhaps he's either hands off one one or both country's news, or he's merely tailoring the news to a market he knows exists (here, the unserved market of conservatives, Australia, people scared of guns).

Socialists in the US use the word "Fox" as an expletive. Prominent Democrats complain of their "biased" coverage (they're stunned that there is a TV channel they don't control).
