does any one know where i can get extra mags for the r.a.p pistols i have one in 9 mm i do believe this is the best pistol i have ever owned but i do want some mags for it thanks daniel

Welcome

The RAP 401 is a slightly modified (in the area of the safety) copy of the Astra A-75. The mags will interchange. Mags for the Astra can be obtained from CDNN. Century Internation used to sell quite a few at a low cost but they seemed to have dried up. Bob Swanson a regulra advertiser in Gun List also sells some, IIRC, but is generally slightly higher than the big sellers.

I keep hearing that Astra A75 mags will work in the RAP, but we had my brother's RAP 440 and 401 at a gun shop/indoor range and they had some Astra A75 mags ... we tried all of them and none of them would work (just fell out)

is there some modification that needs to be made to the A75 mags? Or did this shop just have junk?

I have a couple of A75 mags that I use in my RAP 401, and they work just fine. However, I bought them from another RAP owner - it may be that he modified their mag catch notch, or something like that. I haven't used an A75 mag straight from the factory. Can anyone else comment?

My Rap 401 came with 1 rap mag and 2 Astra mags. Don't know if they have been modified or not, don't think they have been. Will closely look at them tomorrow.

I have half a dozen Astra A75 mags that I use in my RAP 401 and I have never had a problem with any of them.(1000+ rounds). By the way has anyone used +P ammo in thier RAP and if so how did the gun handle it?

I've shot Cor-Bon 115gr. JHP +P and Federal 9BPLE +P through mine - no problem at all. Recoil was slightly stiffer, but nothing objectionable.
