No. ...Not guns used to hunt raffles!
Gun raffles are popular as fund raisers here in our community.
I've never personally won a gun at a raffle or fundraiser, but my sons have won a few.
Whitetails Unlimited banquets
National WildTurkey federation banguets
Quail Unlimited...
Ducks Unlimited....

If it is a worthy cause, i usually buy some tickets.
I have even donated a brand new gun for a for a fellow church members benefit raffle.
My brother in law has a knack for winning guns. Last week he was on of the big winners of a local Masonic lodge gun raffle:

A custom Nighthawk target model Korth .357. It is worth north of $4000.

Has anyone here been a big winner?

I won a Ruger 10/22 at the same meeting I got inducted into my union. Read my name to induct and the very next thing was reading my name for the gun. Guys were livid and to make matters worse I haven't been to another meeting and promptly sold the rifle to my FIL. Story is worth way more than the gun.

Hi...
I have won a couple of guns in raffles.
One was a Remington 870 in 12ga...had to sell it because of a divorce.
Second one is a Savage 7mm Mag bolt action in a synthetic stock. A nice accurate rifle that I hunt with every year for the last 20+ years even though I have quite a few other rifles that I shoot as least as well. I just have great confidence in my Savage 7mm Mag.

My dad won a Browning A5 12 gauge...probably 20 years ago in a raffle. Back then he sold it for $500 which was doing pretty good. I thought he was nuts for selling it, but it is a bit heavy, and he's a bit more of a practical type than me.

My b-n-l is a salesman in town, so he sees people and gets asked to buy tickets, but he IS one lucky dude.
I am not complaining about his luck, because he gave me one of the guns he won a couple years ago. It's a Henry Goldenboy Tribute to Freemasonry .22 levergun.

Pictures are an injustice. It is one beautiful piece!

I won 1000 brass cases 45ACP from Starline a few years ago. When they called me and told me I was the winner, I was stunned. I had never won anything before that.

Wonderful All American Heritage post. This is what the Libs just cannot figure out. I guess they do this everywhere, but the Hunt Clubs I use to belong to use to do raffles as well. We also have a lot of Turkey shoots around the area. Local churches, and other groups sponsor them. This is really what America Gun Ownership is about.
Thanks for Posting Farmer. Enjoyed this tread.

Won exactly one gun raffle in my life. Probably been buying gun raffle tickets for over 40 years now. Won a Ruger Mod. 77 Mk. II Target model in .25-06 from raffle in 1997. Came with a 6-18x Burris Fullfield scope that got replaced with a 6-18 Leupold. Got notified by phone that I was the winner and almost thought a friend was giving me a prank phone call. Couldn't believe I won. KM77VTMKII.jpg IMG_1735.JPG Still buying raffle tickets with no results. Next drawing that I'm in will be in January. Still have that 25-06 and it's a shooter; having been put to the test on the high plains of Wyoming filling a couple antelope tags; one at just over 200 yards and the other about 325 yards. I had always read that the 25-06 is a superb antelope cartridge and now I'm a believer; having BTDT with it. This one I call my "Lucky Gun".

Won a couple over the years, wife won once. Best story of the bunch:
She won a Stoeger over and under. Thing swung like a 6 x 6. First gunshop I went to saw me coming in with the box and asked me to leave....
Took it to the old Holiday, before Gander Mountain (in MN), and asked re: a trade. I asked about a nice Ruger Gov't target Mk II, 6 7/8, in stainless, and asked if we could work something out. Young guy must have wanted that fugly shotgun BAD. First offers an even swap. I was contemplating what a good deal I thought it was. Dude outbids himself. Offers the gun plus $100. Couldn't help myself, I told him to throw in a brick of ammo and we'd have a deal.
I was lighter then, but even back in my football lineman days, I've never run so fast in my life, for fear they were going to chase me for stealing.

I won a gun from the California Rifle and Pistol Association. They had trouble reaching me because I was sure it was a scam. It wasn’t but I never physically received the pistol. They said it was too difficult to transfer the piece here in Calfabulous the State of Shock so instead sent me a check to cover most of the purchase, tax, transfer fees......I just deposited the check!

I've never won a gun. I do buy five tickets from the rimfire chicken shooters club every year and consider it a donation. They are very active in introducing new shooters to shooting, kids through adults so it's a way to support them.

My oldest grandson has won two this year and his wife one. He won a simi-auto shotgun that happened to be the very one he was planning to buy and a Bergara rifle and his wife won a handgun. Maybe I should get him to do my donation thing next year for me.

When I was fresh out of the Army and a poor bum going to college with very little money, I started dating a really nice girl. It was hard enough to impress her being so broke, but I did finally put together enough money for a used car. I even started to take her to church in this old beater. One Sunday while attending the service, some one came rushing in a and YELLED, there is a Car on fire. Everyone ran outside and watched my Cheap Little Renault look like a Bonfire.Man, talk about embarrassing and down right sad. Had to catch a ride home with her parents.
The Next Sunday, the church held a raffle. I won! A New Bike!!! Today this day, I think they rigged it just for me.

PS My son graduated from Army Medic school this am. God Bless America and this great Country!

I have bought many gun raffle tickets but I have never won. I don’t mind most of the time as the money is always going to a worthy cause.

Years ago I went to a Friends of the NRA event with a guy I worked with. I bought multiples of every raffle ticket they had. It was a big event. We were sitting at his table when the tickets were drawn. He won 3 guns. I didn’t win anything.

The luck of the draw I guess.

I won a Benelli shotgun a couple years ago. When hunting out of state with my brother and son, we stopped in a small town bar/restaurant and I donated $20 to the buy-playground-equipment-for-the-grade school cause. They called me 8 months later to tell me my ticket was drawn and shipped the gun to my local FFL. Last thing I needed was a shotgun so I sold it cheap to a friend that had the hots for it.

In the last couple of years, my wife has won 3, yes, 3 raffles.

1). Ruger MKII 5 or 6" barrel
2). AR-15 Lower (a "gun" in California)
3). Just recently a Kimber Compact Carry II in 45 ACP
Dang! :what:
If she was mine, I would have her enter every raffle I could find. And send her out to buy lottery tickets at least once a week, too! :D:D:D

Saturday she bought a raffle ticket at the LGS for a CZ. I expect she'll win that one also. Tickets higher than average, but there's only 29 tickets or some such thing being sold for it.
