Well i took my new Ruger MK lll 22/45 to the range today, that my wife bought me for fathers day a few months back. I had shot it before but had just been messing around. It is the target model with bull barrel and adjustable rear sights. It also came with a rail that mounts on the top, which would mount any type of red dot that one might want to put there.

I will first say that I fired over 200rds today without a single issue, using winchester .22 in it. I did not have to touch the sights they were right on the money from the get go.

I started of shooting 2" orange circles from the benchrest at 15yds. After using the 6 o'clock hold every rd hit inside the 2" cirlce. 10 out of 10 everytime. (3)

Next i stayed at 15yds but stood and shot off hand at 3" circles to allow for my bad shooting!, again 10 out of 10 in each orange target (3), not a single flier.

Now came the fun part 15yds off hand at a 5" shoot n.c. target. Rapid fire as fast as i could pull the trigger. 2mags and 20rds later. 18rds between the 10 and 9 ring and only 2 fliers low and to the left but still in the circle.

So my conclusion is that this pistol is fun and accurate, loading up the mags does work out your thumbs but hey you give a little and you take a little right? :) This maybe the cheapest weapon to shoot in my arsenal but it is by far the most fun! I would reccomend it to anybody that wants a fun filled, accurate, .22 pistol. I am extremely happy with it!

To save your thumb and have even more fun I'd suggest getting the ADCO "super thumb" mag loading tool. Its cheap and effective. You can get these at www.dillonprecision.com. HKS makes a similar one that is available at most large on-line gun suppliers -- Natchez and Midway should have them.

Much faster but more cumbersome is the McFadden "Ultimate Cliploader" machine. Very fast once you get the hang of it. www.mcfaden.com

Yeah I originally was gonna get a magazine loader, but figured it would be something that i would shoot a few times and then get put up, but after today, it is definetly gonna be a regular with me at the range. thanks for the links, i appreciate it buddy! I'll definetly pick up one of them!

My dad gave me a magazine loader thumb-thingy about 10 years ago with the warning "don't lose this, they are hard to find". I don't know if there was some embargo about them getting shipped to Colorado at the time or something, but I see them all over the place now. Still, it worked. I still have that one little, easy-to-lose piece of black plastic in my shooting bag.

Amazing.

Try ultimate clip loader

Hi,

I have a magazine loader called the ultimate clip loader that is designed for ruger 22 semiautos. Go to brownells.com, and then do a search for it. It cost around $30. Well worth it. No more sore thumbs. It loads a clip in about 5 t0 10 seconds. I highley recommend it. Also, Brownells is completely trustworthy business to deal with. I hope this helped.
