So a while back I stumbled across a model 64 customized for PPC in my local gunshop a couple weeks ago. Here's a pic, and the link to the original thread:

I wasn't planning on buying a .38 and I don't already have one, so I didn't have ammo on hand, so I shot small handful of factory rounds through it while I waited for components and dies to arrive. Shot 50 rounds of 158 grain TMJSWCs through it when I first got it. They were pretty hot for a .38, but the recoil was still minimal. I didn't get a good idea just how incredibly sweet it was to shoot until I put a 100 round value pack of WWB 130 gr. through it. It felt about like shooting a 617 in 22LR. It makes sense, though. I borrowed a high-end kitchen scale from a friend - the gun weighs 64 ounces unloaded.

When my components finally came in, I loaded up some of what seems to be the traditional PPC load - a 148 grain full wadcutter over 2.7 grains of Bullseye. To give you and idea how light this is, its the exact same charge I use for target loads in .380. I took a box of them to the range with me yesterday. I was very pleased. The recoil is totally ridiculous, to the point of being non-existent. Its been a while since I've shot a 617, but it seem identical. You don't really feel it in your hand, you just get a tiny bit of muzzle rise and a warm wash of air over your hands from the cylinder gap. I was really pleased with the accuracy as well. This is 38 shots from a little over 15 yards:

I'm an SAO autoloader guy, so double action is totally alien to me. I was really pleased with how I ended up doing, but most of the credit goes to constant dry fire practice. When I first got the gun I thought the trigger pull was awfully heavy, but after getting some real trigger time with it, I've found its just perfect for accurate DA fire, I can't imagine changing it now. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This gun is just stupid amounts of fun.

Since I've found a load I liked, I loaded up all the brass I have,

and the next step is getting all the rear sight presets sighted in at 7, 15, 25 and 50 yards.

Hello. I hope that you enjoy your revolver and become really comfortable with DA-revolver shooting. (It is truly surprising how accurate this style of shooting can be.)

Best.
