If there happens to be any machinist on this site, and if you have some spare time, then here is a money making opportunity for you.
I purchased a RCBS Shell holder adapter for my Herters super 234 turrent press. I installed the adapter on to my process properly, and then to my disappointment, I discovered that the priming post (which screws into the priming feed arm ) is now too short to be able to prime a cartridge case, once a shell holder is fitted into the shell holder adapter.
I contacted RCBS about my dilemma I faced while attempting to use the shell holder adapter made by them. After some time on the phone with their technical department, they finally came across information that stated that the shell holder adapter was, " not intended for use in priming."
So if there is someone out there who has a lathe, and wouldn't mind taking the time to work up a set-up plan to make some extended length primer post ( some for small primers and some for large primers, respectively,) then you might be able to make some money, maybe between $15 to $20 per item. I'm not for sure how much of a market or a demand there is for these, but I would definitely buy one for the large primers and one for the small primers. Maybe some other Herters Press owners would also be interested in this so that they could use their presses for the priming operation. Thanks for your time.
