I picked one up yesterday at my local toy store. When I tried to assemble it last night, it looks like the parts bag are from a different RCBS tool. The white small two piece primer insert has two large ears on it, and 1/4" long tube that would appear to support a primer rod, and the insert is longer than the black large primer insert. NO WAY the small primer insert is gonna go in there! There are two different diameter rods, about 2" in length in the parts bag as well - no idea where the hell these would go. There also is no set screw on the handle, as noted in the instructions. Also, it appears a primer punch is needed to screw into the rod in the primer, but nothing like that was found.

I see a primer punch in the parts break down, as well as the right sized small primer insert, but they seem to be left out.

I plan on taking it back this afternoon, unless I was really deft last night, and the parts are correct. :scrutiny:

I have the APS strip feeding version of the Universal. I think the "universal" part of it is the same, including how the primer rods are inserted.

Possibly my review thread on Arfcom of my tool with pictures could possibly help you. You can click the link and see.

GW Staar, I saw that post this am, nice write up! Yes, the pics are very helpful. Very clear now mine came with the wrong parts. That is the same model as mine, execpt mine has the square primer tray instead of the strips.

Your second and third pics show the primer punch and insertion/removal tool. Mine did not come with these.

I will be making a trip back to my local toy store, and cracking open another box to make sure I leave with the right goodies. Thanks!

Great! I'm betting you will love the tool once you get with the right parts and change tools.

I was feeling pretty "special" last night. My son and I had just gotten home from a USPSA match, and was a little spent. Kept thinking *** is going on with this thing ???? :banghead: :banghead: Shop was great about the exchange, very apologetic. Got it put together with no probs and primed some 223 to try a load this weekend. Very nice addition to the bench. Thanks for bearing with me. :D
