Recoild springs suggestion for my S&W 1006...

Today I was talking with one of the S&W technician when I ordered the original grips for my 1006.

He suggested to keep the original 18lb recoil springs in the pistol.

According to this guy, the original springs are stiff enough for the full power 10mm ammo out there (Double Tap, Corbon, Buffalo Bore) without battering the frame and, on the other side, they are still going to cycle reliably when using the usual commercial "FBI light" toned down ammo.

He thinks I may have cycling issues with the stiff 22lb Wolff springs.

What is the opinion of you regular 10mm shooters?? Do you change springs when switching from full power to lighter loads??

No. The 1006 is capable of handling all 10mm loads, including nuclear 800+ ft/lb stuff, in stock configuration. It is the most robust production 10mm pistol ever made.

If you're ONLY gonna shoot hot stuff, then it wouldn't be a bad idea. But it's not necessary.

However, if I get the super stiff Wolff springs, it is true that I may have cycling issues with the "regular" commercial 10mm?? (Remington, Federal, etc...)
