me and my dad are trying to save up for a hunt. most likely to tioga hunting reserve in pa to shoot russian boar. we are trying to keep it under a 1000. there are not many hunts for the cost love to go out for elk but that is much more. the hog hunts are nice down south but dont think dad is to in to that plus trying to return all the meat id hard even driving we can put 4 or 5 coolers in his Hyundai. if u know of a hunt on the east coast id love to know. nothing with to much walking dad broke his neck and shoulder 5 years ago and im a big guy so no more the say 2 miles a day max. we are open to most animals. if its good eating that makes it better. thanks troy.

Maine has a week in Sept you can hunt bear over bait. They also have plenty of huge deer and moose. I want to say my non-resident license was $250. otherwise, don't know other costs as I won the hunt in a lottery.

thanks for the info how many deer bear u see when u were there and what part of Maine.

I've been to Tioga and was disappointed in the hunt on small acreage and the run down lodging. I suggest that you consider Whispering Hollows in south-central Pennsylvania instead. Very nice lodge, fairly large hunting area, great guides, and plenty of game.

Good hunting to you!

I don't know what things are like now, but spring bear hunts in Canada used to be dirt cheap. The way I worked I was never able to go at that time of year, but a bunch of guys locally used to go yearly. I have a BIL that has taken 4-5 over the years. Success rates are/were near 100%.

Just curious, but being springtime where the bears on he smaller side or have a thinner coat as opposed to a fall hunt?
