Do you reload? If not, you may find 454 a little hard to find depending on where you live. Here it’s fairly scarce. It’s also a real powerhouse. My choice from your choices would be, without question, the Redhawk. I’ve shot all of the guns mentioned. I chose a Redhawk. Although it was in 44mag. And truly couldn’t be happier.

If you get the Super Redhawk in 454 Casull you can also shoot 45 Long Colt. Also you have the scope mounting option. Id rather have these options and not use them ,then wish I had them. IMHO:thumbup::thumbup:

I like everything about the redhawk except the aesthetics. The longer barrels are just so wonky looking. Maybe I'll get over that feeling some day.

Not yet, I'm getting the equipment for our piecemeal. Should be up and running by the end of the year if I stay on track. Also thanks for the input.

Well the great thing about reloading is it opens up a huge selection of ammo without having to buy it. For example: Let’s say you want to go plinking. Load up some 250gr cast lead over a small charge of Unique and go have fun. Want some real wrist turners? An hour in the reloading room and you’re ready to go. You don’t have to burn box store ammo just to go play. And on the flip side, you can make box store ammo seem like you paid way to much for it since it’s performance can be far exceeded by handloads. All you have to buy after the initial investment is bullets, powder, and primers. If you stay off of full charge loads, brass will last a long time.

You said you don’t like the longer barrels. And I agree, they aren’t for everyone. Especially when you get into the 10” versions. But I like how my 7.5” stabilizes my hands for shooting.

If you like the idea of shooting 45lc, you should go the 454/460 route. But if you’re never going to shoot 454 or 460, you might as well just get the 45. A hot handloaded 45lc is no slouch. Hell a medium loaded 45lc is no slouch. I only got mine in 44 because I already had a presafety Marlin 1894 in that caliber.

I have two Colt .45s -- one is a Ruger Blackhawk with at 5 1/2" barrel, and the other is a Colt New Service. I had its barrel shortened from 7 1/2" to 5 1/2" and adjustable sights put on, and added Herrett grips.

I wouldn't spend a dime to buy a Taurus Judge or a S&W Governor.

Hey y'all long time lurker first time poster. Anyways I've narrowed my list for next revolver down to 3. Unfortunately I'm relatively new to the firearms market and I need some information. First off the list though.

Ruger Redhawk 45lc/45acp
S&W Governor
Taurus Raging Judge

Now ideally I would like to eventually have all 3 of these, however as my current occupation is "going back to school" toys might take a while. What I'd like to know is if any of these are likely to leave the market sooner rather than later. Also if you have personal experience with and of the revolvers that might be nice to hear too.

Ps. I know the 45/410 is controversial, but all of these are essentially for fun. I have a GP100 for more practical purposes.

Check out the accuracy potential of your choices, you'll quickly narrow them down to one.
