Refinishing Aluminum

I have a Model 12 S&W with aluminum frame that needs touching up in several places. Anyone have experience with this?

You could paint it with a spray can, or send it back to S&W for re-anodizing.

Not much you can do in between.

Birchwood-Casey does make this, but I haven't had much luck with it trying to match S&W anodizing.

At-home anodizing with Rit clothing die and a car battery charger!

You know you can do it, take the plunge!

Bead blast or just polish, then the process above.

I actually tried anodizing aluminum parts myself in the past but gave up when I couldn't achieve the correct color. I used black Rit die but could only get a dark green almost OD green color... it was a nice color if that was what I wanted but I needed black.
