I bought a Kydex holster that says its intended for a CZ-75. The holster has the world's tightest fit, with no screws to adjust that tightness. In order to reshape it, I'm considering putting it in the oven.

A couple of questions about that:

1) Do I put just the holster in the oven, or the holster with the gun in it?
2) What temp and duration in the oven?

TIA

If it's too tight, send it back. Trying to adjust the fit with your oven is just asking to ruin a holster and at,that point you will have no recourse.

save the oven for for pies. just heat up the offending area with a heat gun (or hair dryer- just takes longer) and shove your pistol in. the tight areas will loosen up. it's easy. no way my polymer pistol is going in the oven.

I have one kydex holster that has seen duty with 3 different pistols after reforming the kydex for each one.

go for it!!

Why, exactly, won't it fit?

If yours is an EAA Witness version of the CZ-75, then there's enough difference to matter.

If its molded to the correct gun that you have and it's just too tight, remove the rivets and replace with a tension screw arrangement, or sandwich a spacer and see if that helps.

But if you bought it new, send it back to the maker.

I have reformed a Crossbreed holster several times....ITS EASY
If you are using a leather backed kydex holster

You can use the oven

You will need some gloves as you reform
You will need a tiny dowel rod

Set your oven for 300

Tape the dowel rod on top of the pistol, in line with your sights as this will create a channel so that the sights dont catch on the edge of the kydex as you draw.

Put EMPTY holster in heated oven for 2 minutes only

Pull out holster from oven and insert gun in holster.

Immediately begin to form soft kydex around your pistol with your gloved hands(its hot)

If you dont like the result, put it in the oven again.

It may take a try or two(or three).

It isnt hard and its worth the effort

I have had 3 different pistols in mine, and the kydex is still perfect.

I also found a barely used crossbreed at a pawnshop that I bought for $10 and redid
