For me at least! I know hand made by this or than custom maker stuff is uber slick and drop dead gorgeous but I don't roll that way as I have lost pocket knives in the past, I would not own something I would not use or carry once in a while at least !
That said top to bottom is in $ worth in todays market, only way I could do it!
Top is a Robert Bauchop Shaman , this one is almost 20 years old and was used in a magazine review. The fellow I bought it from for $400+ sent me the magazine and photo shoot photos
Then A Dalton Voyager axis lock auto, handmade and I paid close to $300
Next down is an Emerson Persian Tactical, not a custom shop one that cost way over 1K but an earlier production one and I cannot imagine a hand made one any better. Paid $250 but you can't find them for that anymore
Then a Camillus Darrel Ralph 7" Maxx these go for up to $700 currently on Ebay and I'll tell you what I can see why! Cammillus must have went out of USA business with the craftmanship that made these! Simply perfect! I paid just under $200 15 years ago !
A Kershaw made in Oregon 34ATS and Ti that was almost $200 20 years ago when I bought the state of the art folder
A Puma Game Warden from 76 or so, I lost the first early carbon steel game warden I carried for 5 years before in the mountains in Panama-don't ask!
My old favorite large old timer carbon steel from the 70s, I had it since Viretnam and left it in my treasured possesions because of the dear Uncle who gave it to me for my birthday .

The Shaman by Robert Bauchop;Peter Bauchop's designed the knife but his son Robert produced a couple hundred at least . I truly nasty Combat Dagger with perfect lock up, centered blade in the micarta handle ,perfect grinds and very sharp, Guncoat finish on the D2 blade. It flips out perfectly and easily ! Priceless to me and my Bauchop collection!
The Emerson Persian is by far the sharpest blade here, it is scary sharp! One of the few double sided Emerson grinds and has good lock up and is too pretty and valuble for everday carry. But if you have to scare somebody-priceless!
The Darrel Ralph Degn knife is on ball bearings and literally fires out with a flip of the wrist only. The huge 7" long D2 blade is very sharp, the Ti frame lock engages fully every time, AND california legal! :neener: My favorite flipper and when I want a serious defensive pocket knife this is it ! Knife appears perfectly hand made! I don't get it! Apparrently other do get it and they go for big bucks when you can find one!
The Kershaw Starkey Ridge Ti and ATS 34 knife was state of the art when I bought it . It is a nice little knife and had wonderfull lock up and detailing. I carried it a few years but it has become to valuable and this one tends to slip out of your pocket if you clip it! I lost two Syderco Polices in 20 years that way!:banghead:
Lastly a fine old Schrade Old Timer Large 1250 that I got in early 70s from a relative (RIP) and stashed until the 90s is a favorite, easy to sharpen, big enough to get respect ;) and with 100% engagement and very tight pivot still !

Sweet

I am a HUGE fan of large folders [ and fixed blades too ].

I have a Cuda Maxx and 2 DDR HTM's also.

As well as a 'few' Cold Steel blades that are stupid big.

I've got one of those Old Timers. A good knife even if it's a little too big for my tastes. It was given to me by an uncle when I was a kid.
