Reloader 7 in pistol cartridge?

I've been wondering about this and thought I'd get some feedback. I've got some Reloader 7 downstairs and I've been thinking about trying it in some of the larger cased pistol cartridges I've got. Specifically 357 mag, 41 mag, and 45 colt. I found one published load for the 357 on the internet but it calls for more powder than the case should be able to hold so I don't know about that.

The burn rate for R7 is only a little slower than for H4227 which is used in all those rounds. And there is load data for R7 in the 45-70 and other "fat bullet" cartridges. In my case all three of these rounds would be fired from a carbine rifle of at least 18".

Does this fall into the catagory of "Bad Idea" or just "Ineffective Idea"?

I have thought of using it in a 460 S&W Magnum but haven't seen any load data for it yet. It seems to me to be a logical choice.

I wrote the company and asked this question. They said it wasn't the "recommended choice" and suggested I stick to blue dot or 2400.
