I recently got some ELD-x bullets for mt 300 win.mag. I already have a pet load for the 180 s.p.b.t. Was wondering if anyone has reloaded these bullets and how did they shoot? I have loaded up a powder work up with IMR 4831 powder, stopping at 69.2 grains, max. powder dose from Hornady reloading data. I load my bullets longer than published data C.O.L. data of 3.340" I load to 3.390" and have had excellent results. Sub m.o.a. groups @ 100 yards,( 180 gr. bullets) If anyone could offer some past experience on these longer length high B/C rate bullets, I would appreciate the advice. Thanks rldr SEAN

I haven't loaded for the .300 wm, but I load for a few calibers that use heavy for caliber bullets. I think you may have to change to a slower powder like imr 7828, Re 25, or h1000...

I bought some and loaded them with 62 gr H4350 in my 300 WSM. I got 2800 fps and put 3 shots into .88" at 100 yards. Almost exactly 2" at 200 yards. I only loaded 6 rounds. I seated them just deep enough to fit the magazine. I have no idea as to OAL. Just checked to make sure they would fit the mag and not hit the lands when chambered.

I could probably get another 100 fps with a different powder, but don't think I'll change a thing.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I will think about a slower powder. I was gifted a few lb's. of IMR 4831 and will likely use it as I have plenty. I also have experience from 2 previous load developments with the 4831. I just need good weather for some range time!
