Controling OAL in 45acp 1911

This is the measurement i use for controling the OAL. The length of the bullet from nose to base can change with different alloys used with cast bullets. As 45acp brass lasts forever, the rim diameter can become oversize causing feeding problems in some autos.

3.6 700X and 200 grSWC with good crimp 1/2 band out.

I chronoed my loads and the 4.0 Clays was too light for IDPA 165 power factor had to move to 4.2 still a very pleasant round to shoot.

What velocity did you get? Looking at my log using 4.2 grains Clays and a 205 grain SWC gets around 760-ish FPS from my 1911A1.

g5.5 I got 850 with the 4.2 Clays in my Gov Model 1911 - just over the line - a friend said he had to go to 4.3 to be over - it may vary by barrel or lead or whatever - ymmv
