I cant seem to find any actual data using a 405 gr cast boolit and reloder 7. I have seen where it has been used but not with published data from a reliable source, I would rather use actual data than go by what someone has posted on handloads.com if you catch my drift. any input/ help would be appreciated.

Lyman cast handbook:

1873 Springfield Rifles
RNFP bullet, 405gr, start 37gr - Max 39gr, 18000 psi, 2.55 OAL

I don't remember the source, but I use a load of RX7 anywhere from 35 to 43 grains, 2.53" OAL with a 405gr Oregon Trail bullet in my Marlin 1895G, depending on how much punishment I can take that day. Anything over 40gr will rattle your teeth.

Don't try a levergun load in a Trapdoor or other replica or older rifle. Be careful of the data as it is published in 3 categories (generally); Trapdoor (and Sharps, Rolling blocks, etc), Lever Rifles, Ruger #1 and #3

Thanks I'm loading for a rossi rio grande. I guess the wilder side of trapdoor will be where I'll go.
