Rem UMC 1911 Value... photos added

So I've got an old Remington UMC .45 auto that has the AA stamp for Augusta Arsenal refinish and United States Property stamp in correct position, 5-digit serial number. It exhibits a lovely grey to greenish patina when held in bright sunlight. All the parts are original, everything correct on it. The gun was purchased from a USMC veteran of the Pacific Theater who was at Guadalcanal and Okinawa. Suffice it to say, it is in fantastic shape and seller included Boyt holster w/ web belt.

I'll try to add photos later, but based on description is this a $2000 to $3000 pistol or am I thinking too high? Looking to trade it for early 40s Colt service pistol that is 95% or better. The Boyt flap holster w/ belt and mag pouch, and canteen aren't on the table (don't see as many fine original flap holsters these days).

Hit me w/ your thoughts, thanks!

Yes, definitely post some photos! From your description it certainly is reasonable to expect a value of 2K or more but detailed pictures will be necessary. Amazing it survived two world wars and remains in good condition with matching parts. Hopefully carried little, and shot very little.

Good examples of WWI Remingtons sure aren't seen much today! If you've got a good one, no doubt there will be people who want it.

I don't have photo album privileges yet?

Hey, I've read through the tutorial on how to post photos... is there a minimum # posts one must have before being able to make an album and post up photos??? Seriously confused!

Click post reply. A box pops up and top center you will see a button that looks like a paper clip. click on it and select pics you want to attach.

Can't wait to see them.

here we go:

OK, hope it posted...

Oops, wrong Colt

Bottom right is gun in question, Rem UMC

center is Commercial Gov't Model from 1924
top left-- is US Property marked 1911 from 1917
bottom left-- Rem Rand 1911A1 from late 43 or early 44, IIRC

Sorry such a low quality shot of the herd minus my Kimber. I'll try to borrow wife's iPhone to get some better ones of the Rem UMC by itself!
Many thanks to Rugmar for teaching me how to post :D
