Well, I had totally forgotten that I got a raincheck for 3K rounds back in may. Found the raincheck in my wallet and gave them a call today, asking if it'd be too late to redeem it since they've never called me about it.

The guy tells me that they haven't received shipment of it yet. And I'm all out of 9mm too. Guess I'll start shooting .45 now, been too cheap to buy new ammo. :D
 
hmmmmm

After 60 days, I might inquire if they really intended to have the ammo, and honor 'rain checks", or are they trying to pull a 'bait & switch' routine.

Asking that of the department/store manager, particularly in front of multiple customers, does produce results.

If it is honestly a situation of their supplier promised, but can't deliver, that is a different matter.
 
I really need to buy a 9mm! Until then, I'm stuck with Walmart and there $20/100 special on Winchester .45acp :(
 
Hey - I've got one of those, too!

Yep, I signed up for a case.

Sales guy told me they weren't expecting THAT kind of demand. He couldn't promise me a date it would be available. My name was near the bottom of the 4th page of 8-1/2 x 11 ruled paper. Most of the names on that list were buying cases, too.

He was also telling me the shipping costs were huge because of the weight, and they really didn't have storage space in the store to carry that much ammo.

Maybe I should give a call over there. It has been a while.
 
They just called me about my rain check last week. It is coming but it is just slow in getting out to the stores. When I got there to pick it up it was for the Winchester and not the UMC that they were trying to substitute for it a month or so ago.

It took them 3-4 weeks for me, but they did call and tell me that my 2K (and my brother-in-law's 1k) were ready for pickup. Then told us we had 24 hours to get it...not normally a big deal, but their store is over an hour away.
