I just purchased a used, 1983 Remington 700 in 7mm mag, and I noticed that the front sight leaf is bent. Of course I dont notice this until AFTER I paid for it  otherwise maybe I could have gotten it a bit cheaper... but anyway.

I was able to find the front sight leaves for sale, but in multiple heights... which would be the correct type for this rifle? Numrich lists High, Low, and "Front sight" (as in it just says front sight, with no clarification...) :banghead:

It has a scope mounted, but Its certainly not a very good scope ( very worn, old, and poorly mounted Tasco, made in Taiwan sticker...) and until I can afford to set that right I figure I could atleast make sure the irons are serviceable.

Thanks for any help!

Your rifle was made with a replaceable front sight blade, Remington now uses a one piece ramp and sight on their 700's. This might be what Numrich has listed as front sight. I have a drawer full of Remington take-off front sights, PM me your address and I'll send you one along with a hood so it doesn't get bent again.

:what: Oh wow! Thank you so much! Pm sent....

I really think Ill enjoy this rifle, its actually my first "nice" bolt gun ( ive had a mosin before, but its NOTHING like this)
