Remington 870 Wingmaster serial number dating?

Sup guys,

Found a Remington 870 Wingmaster shotgun in an old gun cabinet. Can anyone tell me when it mightve been made? Serial number S1708xxV?

S prefix is from 1968 to 1974, so probably about 1969. I am sure someone will tell you that you can call Remington, but I wouldn't bet any really big money on the results. According to them, over the phone, 2 of my guns don't exist. If you get a letter on Remington letterhead, as far as i know you can take that to the bank.
