Does anybody know where i can find more information on these or at least some pictures. I have an rem model 10 that i got for free, and I decided to make a project out of it. I already shortened the barrel to the right length from info i already found, and adapted a winchester 97 bayonet lug to it, but from the only picture I could find of a true one, It had a wooden handguard on the barrel. This looks like it could be made from a enfield top handguard, but finding pictures of remington trench guns is not going so good. Any help would be appreciated.

There's a section on the Model 10 in Thomas S. Swearengen's book The World's Fighting Shotguns, with some pictures. This one is out of print as far as I know, and might be hard to find.

Bruce N. Canfield's A Collector's Guide To United States Combat Shotguns (1992) also has some data, with even more detailed pictures. Canfield also has a more recent book out ( http://www.amazon.com/Canfields-Complete-United-Military-Shotguns/dp/1931464286/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_c - 2007) that I don't have yet. And the board at http://www.jouster.com/cgi-bin/milshotgun/shotgun.pl might help too.

I don't have a copy of http://www.amazon.com/Winchester-Trench-Combat-Shotguns-collectors/dp/1882391020 either, but it might possibly help too, as it covers some other US combat shotguns.

hth,

I'll try to get back to you later to day with some more details from The World's Fighting Shotguns. I'm working on some Model 10 stuff also: "It had a long wood wooden handle that allowed air to circulate" and " a modified trench gun type of baynet adapter for the 1917 Enfield bayonet".
