Hello all,

I have recently purchased a Remington SP 10. I have wanted an autoloading 10 for a while. My Dad used to let me borrow his Mag 10 and this seems to be the closest to that shotgun.

My question regards the choke. It came with a screw in choke. It appears to be a Pattern Master. How do I check the choke to see what choke it is? The choke is not marked. I would hate to send steel shot through a turkey choke. Any thoughts?

I have an SP10 that I used last goose season for the first time. It's a great semi auto and a lot easier on my arthritic shoulder than my BPS 10. I have an extended range ported tube Patternmaster in mine. Pattern master doesn't rate their chokes in the conventional way such as full, mod, imp/cyl, They instead, call theirs short range, long range, and extended range. Their website www.patternmaster.com has a lot of info on it. You can identify what choke you have by its appearance and length. Congratulations on owning a fine shotgun. Below is a photo of my pair I call "Beauty and the Beast" I had the BPS camo dipped four years ago I've owned it about 20 years

Measure the inside Diam of the choke and compare it what is listed for other models in 10 gauge.

If needed I have a Imp Mod/Mod (Steel/Lead) and a Full Lead Only I can give you some numbers from to compare.
