Remington Wingmaster 16ga barrel availability

I have acquired my brothers 16gauge 870 Wingmaster with a plain 28" mod barrel. Tried searching for a slug barrel or possible barrel with rem chokes. Are they even available? 12ga and 20ga are no problem to find....any help would be appreciated!

They were at one time. But as the 16ga popularity dropped off so did the availability of aftermarket barrels. Plus I don't think as many were made. Your going to have to hunt down a used one AFAIK. I took a quick look on Gunbroker and Ebay and found nothing. If you can at least find another plain 28" you could cut that down for a slug barrel. Good luck.

There are many shotgun barrel smiths who can install Rem chokes in your existing barrel if you can’t find another one. Here is a good one that I’ve had recommended to Me:

Gunbroker has a 60’s era with no rib with a couple days on the auction. I just saw it. +$200.

Thanks for the help. It's a really nice gun bought new in 1966...not many rounds through it and almost like new. Maybe I'll use it this Turkey season the way it is, if I find a good 2 3/4" load to use. I was thinking of placing a Bsquare mount with a scope for deer season here...I suppose that's a option too, but maybe not the best one? It will be fun to see it used again, instead of idle like the last over 50 years.
