My Dad got me a Pietta 1858 New Model Army 44 when I was 16. I'm going to start shooting it again, and after giving it a once over I realized how bad I treated the screws on that thing...where can I find replacement screws for it?

VTI is awfully high in their prices...what's wrong with the screws? Is it just the heads? If so, those can be dressed out and made to look and work almost like new very easily.
Dixie Gun Works sells parts and so does Cabellas...not sure if Cabellas sells screws though but I do know they sell internal parts for many of the Pietta-made guns as well as spare cylinders for half what VTI sells them for!!!!!!

If the threads are fine why buy new screws? The heads and slots can be dressed out to like-new usually. Why pay all that money when it isn't necessary??

Alabama...if it's just the screwheads that are buggered I would be happy to dress them out and redo the slots for you. All you need to do is drop them in a padded envelope and send them out to me...no charge for doing it...I'm happy to help.
