Seems like a good court ruling to me, I hope it gets to the Supreme Court before long where , hopefully, it would be affirmed.

No need to bother the Supreme Court with this, it seems the lower court has made a logical decision based on the law. The US Attorney should just let it go, and if he thinks "likely other offenses committed," he should have provided evidence of such. To me, it sounds like Mr Neureiter was on a fishing expedition and was called on it by the judge.

Good ruling. I have bought firearms that I have turned right around and sold because I didn't like them. It happens. But if I go into a gun shop with someone else's money to buy something for someone else, that would be a whole different story.

ITAR (administered by StateDep) applies, as does US Customs.

The key word here is "Export"--this is different from "transport" where a person is taking an arm for individual use, like international hunting or the like.
