Hi [archigos],

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.

We understand that this is a sensitive topic, and that some of our customers may not agree with our choice to pause the promotion of firearm-related deals. Groupon has always aimed to offer a diverse range of products and services to meet the various tastes and interests of our subscribers. However, at this time, enough customers and merchants have voiced their opinions that we believe a hiatus is warranted.

Please note that we have never sold guns, and this hiatus only applies to firearm-related deals including shooting ranges, clay pigeon shooting, and concealed weapons training classes. We have not made a final determination regarding this category -- we are simply taking a break and may reevaluate in the future.

Per your request, I've unsubscribed this email address and removed your Groupon.com account.

We genuinely appreciate your opinion and the feedback you've given us. I'll be sure to share your comments with the appropriate people.

Regards,

Daniel B

Above is the reply that I just received from Groupon. Took me a while to do this but I gave the deals I had already purchased away and wanted to make sure that people had time to redeem them first.

I quit them a long time ago . Check out brads deals. As far as I know they aren't on either side which I am fine with. If you want to stand and watch the fight that's fine but if your gone enter the ring that's anther story.

One positive that comes out of this is that they "heard why you quit". If enough people quit for a similar reason and make that known, they either "go under" or change.

Yes, it is vitally important that they received the message and understand that their decision has resulted in your decision to take your money elsewhere.

If we just stop using a business without telling them the reason they can only guess about the drop in profits. Make sure to tell them they've lost a customer and exactly why and you might be able to reverse their policy.

I received some financial information not long ago that claimed Groupon was in trouble, as a company, for what it's worth.

I was never a customer but when I first heard of their policy change I made a mental note never to become one.

Just tell them that due to their policy change you're dropping them in favor of Deal Chicken because they never treated us like criminals.

It's there, down at the bottom. Sez unsubscribe and has a area to explain your self. Like I said earlier and I just got an answer.

Basically the same as archigos got. I don't miss the trash and spam.

Got the exact same letter. I wonder how many they have to send before they get it that they have P.O.'d a lot of people they didn't need to, and compare that number to the "enough" that supposedly "voiced concern" (and why does my BS detector go off on reading that oh-so-vague phrase?)
