Ruger is sending me a complete new rifle and they are paying my sales tax and dealer transfer fees because it has to go through my dealer ( not really but thats who they want to send it to and I don't care all that much ) .
Well that's kinda good news. It's kinda disheartening that they let a rifle that bad get through CS. But great news that their not going to try and cobble yours back together. That's great their sending you a new rifle, and their going to make it that easy for you to get.
The tech I talked to yesterday even asked me what ammo I was using so he could test fire the new rifle before it went out. I'll end up with a few more mags out of the deal.
No idea what was wrong with it. The tech said he started to remove the sight base and he stripped the threads out ( loctited ) in one of the holes so they said bag it and theyre sending a new gun.
My bet is they want to go over it with a fine tooth comb to figure out what went wrong. You get a new gun, they get a QC test piece to improve their manufacturing and assembly process.
Ruger is doing it right. I appreciate when a company treats its clients this way. It might be just and impression, but I think it was more often like that some years ago. I know I will remember that one about them.
That is one company that has never let me down. Ive found guns at garage sales than looked like they got run over buy a truck. Sent them in for a rebarrel and reblue and got a gun back that looked brand new for $150. Probably why I own a dozen Rugers.
