Greetings,

If to be able to shoot zero and my crosshair is too low do I shim front or back?

Also, do I shim under the ring between the rail and the ring or in the ring between the scope and the ring?

Thank you

Because of the way most rings engage the rail you will not be able to shim between them. Depending on how much shim you need I try and put them under the scope between the ring and the scope. I had one rifle that needed a little more. I placed a shim between the receiver and the scope rail. Just be careful its harder to get screws to hold into the reicever without the aid of lock-tite is you do this.

Burris makes rings with shim inserts but you can always make some out of aluminum or steel cans. If you are looking for more elevation shim the rear.
