I have decided to rebarrel my savage 110. it currently is in 25-06. what I am trying to decide is do I stay with 25-06 or go to 6.5-06. reasons to stay with 25-06 is I have everything, brass dies ect. reasons to go 6,5 is bullet selection. what this rifle will be for is mostly long range prairie dogs and coyote. Maybe deer. what caliber what twist and if you have a recommendation on barrel maker.

You can reuse that brass for the 6.5-06 easily. Same powders will work, and you can probably sell off your bullets and dies to fund new ones.

I've been heavily considering building a 6.5-06 myself, it's a great cartridge for a number of reasons. I'm considering it for yotes to pronghorn.

Douglas is a great choice. I used McGowan for a 450 BM Rem 700 build and was very pleased with the raw product and the results it produced.
