For the first time in many years I may be getting weekends off. I'm interested in some semi-formal competition shooting, rifle &/or pistol.
I shoot muzzleloading seriously (USIMLT) but don't get much chance to do any shoulder to shoulder shooting in that, so would like to do some other discipline where I can keep my self tuned up. Was thinking possibly air rifle/pistol or smallbore, though centerfire (service rifle/CMP) would be ok, too. Would prefer a discipline were iron sights are used (Open or aperture). I live in the Everett, WA area & don't mind driving a reasonable distance, but would prefer not to compete on Sundays.....how about night leagues?

We shoot IDPA every 3rd saturday of the month down at Renton Fish and Game club. Very good group of guys, friendly to new shooters.

Sams Club in Everett has an action pistol shoot every Friday I believe at 6 or 7pm at night. And Black Diamond will be starting IDPA every Monday evening as well.

You could also shoot steel plate matches at Wades on Wednesdays, but I heard a rumor that they may be discountinuing that soon.

If you ever do get around to shooting Sundays, there is a place to shoot USPSA almost every single sunday every month, most all year round.

Here are a couple of videos from this past Saturdays IDPA match at Renton.

Let me know if you'd like to come down and try it out. It's 15$ a match, we have a new shooters orientation that starts before the match at 8:30am. I can meet you down there, show you around and get you started. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
