Okay guys I need some help!

I am in search of a new front bag for my Caldwell Rock Deluxe. (I know its a cheap rest but I couldn't afford anything else). The issue I am running into with two of my rifles is the front bag is too wide and doesn't hug the rifle, thus making it wobble. I have a couple amateur 22lr Benchrest shoots coming up and I know my savage Mark II HB can hang with some of the other Savage guys but this rest's bag just isn't cutting it. I have to hold the front of the rifle still which is not allowed during the match. My Boyds Classic on my 223rem also is kind of wobbly.

I have looked at Protektor but not sure these will even fit my rest or be an upgrade?

Any suggestions?

Protektor bags are a definite upgrade from Caldwell. I have a Protektor on my Rock and several Protektor rear bags.

I would use a Harris 6-9 BR bipod instead of a front rest for your .22 matches. Matter of fact, I do.

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure they would fit the Rock.

I have a small bipod that I could use if they didn't strip the horse mats off the benches and sand and paint them. Those things are slicker than owl sh.. right now. I have to kind of drop the rock on them to get the feet to dig in.

Here are a couple examples of front rests that are quick and easy to adjust to snugly conform to a rifle's for-end shape. The bag supporting "wings" on either side of the bag loosen or tighten the bag simply by adjusting the thumb-screws. It should be a relatively simple modification to install on the Caldwell rest.
