I recently got a Tikka Whitetail Hunter in .308 and now I need to know the best way to mount a scope to it. I would rather not pay $70-90 for special Tikka rings or whatever they are. I'm sure there is an easier way to do it, and I know that with the wealth of information out there someone can help me.

I have looked on Midway's website and found a B-square interlock base, Burris 2-Piece Trumount Base, and other scope mounts with integral mounts. So what would be best?

Also does anyone know where I can get the 5rd mags? Thanks in advance for your help.

Warne All steel grooved Receiver Series Rings 1" med. or high $37.95. If wish I would have went with these 6 months ago, I'll probably change to them soon. I bought weaver bases and rings locally, to get me shooting.

They did have 3 and 5 shot magazines. They are expensive for 5 shot, I should get one. I'm worried they will become hard to get if Tikka T3 uses something different.
I really like my Tikka Syn. WH in .308.
Good Shooting.

I've not held nor seen a T3, so I'm just asuming it's drilled and tapped for regular scope mounts...

I've been using Weaver or Weaver-style bases and rings since 1950. Never the first sign of any problem. I like them because not only do they work, they're very inexpensive--and I'm a cheapskate.

Conetrols are prettier. They also cost more, but I have a set on one of my pets. The only drawback is that it takes three hands to assemble them. :)

Basically, let your billfold be your guide...

I had a weaver base with burris zee rings, it was very solid on my whitetail deluxe. i changed it out because i got a deal on a set of tikka rings and bases. for what its worth they both worked great.

as far as extra magazines there was a place in canada called lebaron or something that had them.

were you the one who out bid me on the blue/syn. 308 model on auction arms. ;) i hope it shoots well for ya. i was gonna pick up that rifle because i have the extra base and rings pretty sad eh :D

Sorry kumma that would be me. :D

He re-listed another one so you could get that one, and you could probably get it for the opening bid. If you don't have any use for the base and rings I would be happy to take them off your hand. Once again sorry for screwing up your plans. Thanks to everyone else who responded.
