Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Somehow I think yours might be the equivalent of 'War and Peace'.

I 'inherited' this piece of handcrafted zinc and steel from a renter that skipped out... it's got a broken firing pin but I see no reason to repair it--the cost of the pin is probably more than the pistol is worth.

It's got some finish wear and someone electro penciled an SSN on the opposite side. This may someday end up as a weekend project, for now it's a hall of shame entry.

Looks like a Tanfoglio GT27 - which would should definately take it out of the "POS" category, and explain the well machined slide...

Yup, we're kind of both right :)

F.I.E was the importer, Tanfoglio the manufacturer.
(F.I.E. = Firearms Import and Export of Florida. Wonder how they came up with that name?!)

After '68 these were imported as parts - with the exception of the frame which was made in the US.

Well now you learn somethin' new everyday.

A new FIE Titan is being sold in the current SGN for $115.

I've got an old FIE Titan .25. I bought one from a preacher twenty years ago who used it as his "vest gun." In twenty years, I've only shot maybe 300 rounds out of it but it has been flawless. Absolutely no FTF/FTE at all.

There are a couple on GB. One for $75, one with a Buy It Now of $109.

I thought I had heard that they were made by Tanfoglio; the same guys who made the EAA Witness and the Baby Desert Eagles. I'm happy to hear the confirmation.

Since these pics, I stripped it and reblued it. I doubt many FIE Titans have felt so much loving care. ;) And, "yes," that is part of an bicycle inner tube around the grip to perform the same function as a Handall Jr but in a smaller form factor. The first pic is from gunbroker; the second pic is mine.

I've got another one for you. My little Arminius HW5. Cheap, cheap, cheap but fun to shoot. It's a 7-shot .32 S&W Long.

My wife actually enjoys shooting it due to low recoil. I can't get her to repeat shooting the 9mm, 10mm or .45. The .32 S&WL? Anytime...

Arminius was somehow tied to Hans Hermann Weihrauch, hence the "HW."

FM2 Wildcat,
Best and funniest picture I've seen on THR. And I must admit the Bryco was my second semi-auto, after a Jennings J22.Aaaargh!
