I was flippin through the cabelas catalog and saw a rossi trifecta. It is a single shot rifle/shotgun that comes with 3 stainless barrels: 22lr, 20ga, and .243. I was intrigued by the price tag. $279.99 with the coupon. Does anybody have any experience with this gun? I can't remember rossi's reputation, so could ya'll please refresh my mind?

It's supposedly a new gun and am wondering if it'd be worth it. I think it'd be fun to plink with, but need to find out more about it. BTW, i'll probably be making a trip to cabelas to pick up some other things in the catalog and am wondering if it woudn't be a waste of money to pick one of these up.

My brother just got one for his little girl.

I went to the range with him for the sight in of the scope on the .243 barrel. 50 yds was OK. Then 100 yds was bad. Not sure where the problem was. We just decided it was not getting solved at that point. No obvious problems.

Sorry that it is inconclusive at this point. If it ends up shooting well it it still only a weapon I can't get too excited about. The iron sights did seem like they were easy to knock the elevation off. They are plastic. I just was never into the single shot el-cheapo style gun.

As a result a runtly little girl did kill her first deer with a Rem 700 in .30-06 though.

Every Rossi single shot that I've handled has had such a sloppy hinge pin fit that the rifle was literally floppy when the action was open.

I don't trust their lock-up to last long at all.
