This was my third visit to the range since I purchased my first AR last Wed. I shot:
30 rd 55gr Remington UMC
30 rd 55gr Brown Bear JHP
30 rd 55gr Wolf
60 rd 55gr Ultramax
Everything I shot(obviously cheap ammo) was pretty accurate and had no problems.
I'm still just using the iron sights so nothing I did today would be what I consider precision shooting, but it wasn't too bad.
I started off with a bench rest at 50 yards, which was actually my worst BR group of the day with one 5 or 6" group and a couple 4 or 5 in. Went to 75 yds, and the groups actually got tighter, with nothing worse than 3 inchers. Finished off the BR with 100yders and the groups weren't worse then 3 out there too, with one 10 shot group all inside of the 9 ring.
Stand up, was obviously worse, but nothing too terrible at all. It was just the opposite of the bench rest shooting, because my groups were tighter at the shorter ranges, but none of my 10 rd groups were what I would call terrible.
I'm sure there are loads of you guys out there than can do much much better than I did today with iron sights, but for my third time out I am very impressed with my new gun.
