Happy new year!

I was just thinking, I'm going to mate a 10/22 action and barrel to a Fajen legacy series adj. stock. I'd like to purchase a "Volquartsen hex head take down action screw". But, I've heard this screw and ones from other manufacturers might not be long enough. Is this true?

I had a B&C Anschutz stock for one of my 10/22s, and the Volquartsen hex-head screw wasn't long enough to engage the threads in the receiver. I had to use the original Ruger takedown screw. You have a couple of options. Weaponkraft sells takedown screws that in my opinion are superior to the Volquartsen part (the VQ screws are full-profile screws and you have to drill out the threads in the stock escutcheon). Also, the takedown screw is a standard size (12-24) and you can probably go down to a hardware store and find one that's the appropriate size.

Whats wrong with the Ruger screw? I had my 10/22 nestled in the Legacy fully adjustable stock and never had any troubles with the standard screw. Dont waste your money, buy more ammo.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up!
There's nothing wrong with the Ruger factory screw, I'd just like to use one that isn't flathead type. I prefer hex and torx.
