This winter I purchased a RAR chambered in 22lr at my LGS and sent it to a local gunsmith to be cut down to 16.5" and threaded. I wasn't sure what to expect as far accuracy as this was a reasonably priced rifle. After putting a Nikon Prostaff rimfire 3-9x with BDC 150 I found that this rifle is surprisingly accurate. Infact I'm really impressed with how accurate this is. I have some 3" metal targets 50 yards behind my parents house for plinking and can easily hit them every shot no problem.

So, Yesterday I was able to take the RAR out for some real distance shooting. I was able to take it to 170 yards at my in-laws from their back porch to the shooting range backstop. Today I had the Sparrow on and was shooting CCI Standard Velocity. I set the zoom to 7x and was able to use the spot where the vertical line gets larger past the last circle to hit almost precisely at that distance. I had a 9" plate I could hit nearly every shot and even a 3" wide by 5" tall chipmunk I could hit fairly well also. To see how it was patterning I put out a paper target that is 8" in diameter and shot about 14 shots at it. The target is shown below, how good is this for a BDC reticle at 7x and 170 yards? I'm please with it as that's quite a distance to shoot at, the longest I've ever gotten to shoot at at least.f

The picture is actually sideways, it was hung with the writing in the correct orientation.
