I have never owned a Ruger product before; I purchased an AR 556 “pistol” for my wife to deer hunt.
I shot the pistol for the first time today; it has a Leupold red dot scope on it that I bore sighted - I was shooting factory PMC 55 grain hunting loads (lead tipped). It was just below the bottom of the paper for the first three rounds - with nine more rounds, I was right where I wanted to be (about an inch, inch and a half high at 100 yards).
The first 12 rounds were impressively tight groupings as I was moving the groups on the target and each three -shot group tightened as I shot this pistol.
The photo I have attached are shots 65396A30-A506-488D-9A2D-91372782CD02.jpeg #13, 14 and 15 at 100 yards. I am a decent rifle shot and I have quite a bit of shooting confidence, especially at 100 yards. This pistol has a 10.5” barrel and a horrible (about) 9#, gritty and long travel trigger - it still shot very, very well - I must say that my first ownership encounter with a Ruger product was/ is very impressive.
